Driving work/life opportunities

WHAT IS IT?    

A Federal government program funded until 30th April, 2024.  This program aims to expand employment and life options by working on 3 key barriers that block persons aged 16 to 25yrs from obtaining a driver’s licence.  This program works with the PCYC’s Braking the Cycle Stanthorpe driving program.

 

WHO?                                                                     

Supporting persons aged between 16 and 25 years of age resident in GBNC’s geographic boundary.

 

 

HOW DOES IT WORK?                                          

Any interested person aged between 16 and 25 years struggling to obtain a driver’s licence can access this program.  This program can assist to address the three key barriers to getting a licence – anyone or combination of factors:

  • getting the required number of hours. We have a car and trained mentors who can help you gain the 100 hrs
  • the costs associated with getting learners then driver’s licence
  • literacy, numeracy and ability to navigate what can be a confusing process that requires completion of key documents

WHEN?

Granite Belt Neighbourhood Centre is open weekdays from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.  Mentors linked with learners may operate outside of usual office hours.
